JosephineThis is another small papercut I did trying to determine how to scale it into a larger piece.
I haven’t had much time to make pieces for sale lately because I was selected to include a unique piece in the upcoming John Michael Kohler Art Center Folklore & Legends exhibit.
I’ll post more on that later.
Some time soon, this piece along with more new and old work will be for sale at the Waxwing, and a new place for me, Sparrow Collective!
Look for a post on my Facebook page when they are available for purchase.

Here I Am, Little Lamb (study)This is a very tiny part of a much bigger thing.
I was working out the scale on the bonnet and collar to see how small I could make it.
Turns out, it’s going to be fairly large.
Since it is going to be a bigger papercut, I’m considering changing the faces and dresses.
We’ll see…

They Think You're So EmptyThis is my second attempt at a triptych.
I sold “Love Is Blind” at the Waxwing last spring, but I didn’t make much mention that it was my first.
This piece has movable parts!
It’s not obvious in the image above, but you can slide the two small papercuts together to conceal the large one.
Unfortunately this is so tiny that I’m having trouble getting the colored paper to stay in place.
In the end it may not work out, but if it does, I have two more of these frames, and I’m anxious to use them.
Obviously, it is based on old whaling songs, but the title is the point of view of the whale taken from a Low song about Nico.

Nobody's Baby (detail)This is a very small detail to a much larger piece. I had to determine how small I could make this squirrel kitchen so I could determine how large to make the rest of it. This ended up being 2″ x 2″ so the finished papercut will probably be 21″ x 11″.

It's Not LoveI had an idea for this in the middle of the week. I cut out a very small version of it last night. It seems like it needs more embellishments. Maybe later…

SleipnirAnother experiment from today.  I’m still designing a new chipmunk feeder (I know I’ve been saying that for months) and I think I want to put a Sleipnir image on the facade. Hopefully this weekend I’ll see if I can use the scroll saw to cut it out of wood.  Just in time for all the chipmunks to hibernate.
